ASSIST is an NSF-funded Nanosystems Engineering Research Center that partners with scientists, engineers, and science educators from North Carolina State University, Florida International University, University of Virginia. The grant engages juniors in a 6-week research experience from Bellwood-Antis School District, Tyrone Area School District, and Grier School in Tyrone in multidisciplinary projects surrounding nano-scale engineering battery-less devices for sensing and transmitting environmental factors and physiological responses to the environment.
